HUNNIC TRIBES, Alchon Huns. Uncertain king, circa 450-500. AE (Bronze, 14 mm, 1.13 g), uncertain mint, probably in Gandhara. Bust with elongated skull to right; in field to right, fire altar. Rev. JANADITYA or JAVADITYA ('Sun of Victory' in Brahmi) in two lines. Vondrovec, Type 55B. An attractive example. Minor deposits, otherwise, very fine.

The fire altar before the bust of the king also appears on drachms of the Alchon ruler Mehama, with whom this coin might be contemporary.
